XR Lewes Sounding Event: The Coat of Hopes

The world has changed since thousands of us joined the Rebellion in 2019 and forced the UK Parliament to declare a Climate Emergency. There are now many forces committed to stopping change. Some of us in XR Lewes feel it is time to pause, reflect and take a sounding. We have formed the Soundings Working Group.

As the climate crisis worsens the burden we carry increases. Our aim is to create a space where we can talk, unburden ourselves, come to terms with this new reality and discuss our uncertain future.

To start with, we’d like to invite you to a simple event, inspired by the Coat of Hopes which was made, worn and walked by hundreds of people over hundreds of miles, as they considered their place in the climate breakdown story. Our first meeting will be a chance for everyone to join a circle, to speak and be heard.
